2019-06-11
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the transfer of sovereignty over Macao to China and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Portugal, under the theme of “Cooperation – Key to Business Opportunities”, the 24th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair will be hosted by Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute from October 17 to 19 at the Venetian Macao Convention and Exhibition Center, concurrently with the 2019 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2019 PLPEX). The exhibitions are committed to “opening up co-operation opportunities via China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Platform” while fully utilising the advantages of Macao as a co-operative service platform between them.
The Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area expressly supports Macao to cultivate a number of internationally influential conference and exhibition brands. As the first branded exhibition in Macao to be approved by the Global Association of Exhibition Industry (UFI), the MIF has been continuously optimizing its level of internationalisation, scale and quality since its inception more than 20 years ago. In the meantime, it also provides enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, the Pan-Pearl River Delta, and the mainland with an exchange platform connecting Latin America through Brazil, Europe through Portugal, and Africa through Angola and Mozambique, creating business opportunities and building bridges for commercial networking.
This year’s MIF continues to offer various activities, including thematic exhibitions, high-level forums, investment environment and project promotion conferences, and industrial thematic sessions, with an aim to encourage all guests from home and abroad to utilize the unique advantages of the Macao’s platform, to achieve co-operation and seek common development, and to share business opportunities in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the “Belt and Road”.
